NSS Idhaya College has NSS with approximately 100 students. It is an ample opportunity for the youths to involve themselves in social activities and ultimately developing their personality.
The student is actively involved in serving society through various means, such as visiting at homes of the less privileged people helping children in their studies. In addition, they participate in seminars awareness programs, national integration, and cultural program..
National Service Scheme of Idhaya College organized the following activities in the camp with the help of the N.S.S coordinator.

- Blood donation camp
- NSS day celebration
- Village pond cleaning
- Village road cleaning
- Village road laying
- Tree plantation
- Orientation programme of NSS officers
- Awareness programme on social evils
- Campus cleaning & Temple cleaning
There instill in them the values of patriotism, service, and unity, and a respect for diversity. These activities also help them critically analyze relevant social issues, such as the role of the youth in nationality unity, religion, and communalism. The students learn how to arrange their thoughts, prioritize their values, and express themselves.

General Objectives
- To understand the community in which they work;
- To understand themselves in relation to their community;
- To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving. process;
- To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility;
- To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems;
- To develop competence required for group living and sharing of responsibilities;
- To gain skills in mobilizing community participation;
- To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude;
- To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters; and
- To practice national integration and social harmony.
Specific Objectives
- To arouse a social consciousness of the students by providing them opportunities to work with and among the people.
- To develop an awareness and knowledge of social realities to have concern for the well-being of the community and engage in creative and constructive social action.
- To provide with rich and meaningful educational experiences to them in order to make their education complete and meaningful.
- To develop the skills needed in the exercise of democratic leadership and programme development to help them get self-employed
- To give them the opportunities for their personality development.
