Rotary in action

In our college,we have Introduced Rotaract club only in 2019.

It’s main motto are:

  • Serve the people without selfishness
  • Together to create a better future

On 5th JULY 2019 we had an orientation enrollment programme for our club.

About

History of Rotary Club

  • Grassroots at thecore, Rotary links 1.2 million members to form all organization of international scope.
  • It started with the vision of one man Paul Harris.The Chicago attorney formed the rotary club of Chicago on 23rdFebruary, 1905.
  • So professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas, from meaningful, lifelong friendships and give back to their communities.
  • Rotary name came from the groups early practice of rotating of meeting among the offices of its members.

On 6thJULY 2019our college organized awareness program about cleanliness.

On 6thJuly morning during the staff’s prayer our principal explained about the club duties and divided the following staff members for each club.

Mrs. Virgin cardelia is the co-ordinator for Rotaract club.

Then our Principal put the lot number 1 to 6 indicating all the club. Our Club took lot number 5. Our principal also joined with us , and started the cleaning and insisted the importance of sanitation.Our professors and our students done the duty alternatively. 212 students participated in this cleaning work.

Our club has provided an opportunity to develop leadership experiences andrelationship with their peers as well as with prospective.

Installation Function

The same day evening (6th JULY 2019)ROTARACT DISTRICT 3231 had their installation function at PUDUPALAYAM in A.S.MAHAL around 6 o’clock.

Rev.Dr.SaraJasmine, Principal, Rev.Sr.Amali andtheProfessorMrs.VirginCardelia,Miss.Megala,Mrs.Nithiya,Miss.Nithiya along with 71 Rotaract students tofether participated in this programme.

During this function our students performed few cultural programmes.PDG.RTN.AKS.K.JANARILAL JAIN (CHAIR, AMALAL GROUP OF COMPANY, VELLORE,GUDIYATHAM) district rotary club trainer gave the inspirational and motivational talk about the club and how to lead a good and best life by today’s youth.

Then he asked the students to plan your work and work with your plan. If you fail to plan and you will fail in your work.At last rotary club have given 12 pieces of shirt cloth for the sunshine school which is running in our college campus to help and educate the MR childrenThe programme came to end with a dinner at 9 pm.

Women Safety Awareness

On AUGUST 10th SATURDAY our club has conducted WOMEN SAFETY AWARENESS programme.The Rotary club of THIRUVANNAMALALI MOON CITY, the Rotary club of THIRUVANNAMALI VENGIKKAL,the Rotary club of THIRUVANNAMALAI LIGHT CITY,the rotaryclub of PUDUPALAYAM were participated in this programme.The programme started with prayer song. The programme was sponsored by KUYILI FROM CHENNAI.

Under the guidance of RTN.NALINI SRIDHAR (ROTARY CLUB OF. CHENNAI)along with RTN.UMA GANESH, RTN.MAHALAKSHMI SRINIVASAN,RTN.SAHANA ANBARASU and all the club PRESIDENT,VICE PRESIDENT ,SECRETARY, all the members of Rotary club were also participated in this programme.

RTN. MR.ANBARASU from kuyili introduced about all the club members and their activities.RTN.IYYAN KARTHIKEYAN (THE EDITORAND CO.FOUNDER) gave some information on gender sensitization, and also told many informations about women safety and self defence.

RTN.T.INDRA KUMAR,said about the laws on the support of women and sexual harassment.

Al last REV.SR.JULIA VIOLET the secretary of our college gave some information about the women safety awareness to the students. The programme ended at 2.45pm with national anthem.

Corona Awareness Programme

On 10th, 11th,12th March 2020 we have conducted the awareness programme about Corona Virus in and around our college by ROTRACT CLUB in IDHAYA COLLEGE.

First we have given awareness programme to all our staff and students on 10/03/2020.

On 11/03/2020 at 11 am “Corono Virus Awareness” programme was conducted in our college under the guidance of Dr.Vignesh, MBBS, Karapattu, Mr.Senthil, Non-Medical supervisor, Elumalai, Health Inspector.

About

Dr.Vignesh spoke about the causes, symptoms and mode of transmission of the disease and also explained about the preventive measures. He told that Noval Corona Virus was discovered in 1963 and it is transmitted by Droplet transmission and close contact with the viral infected person. So for no proper medicine vaccine available for corona prevention. So he insisted to wash the hands properly with soap and maintain respiratory hygiene with demonstration.

The symptoms Covid-19are high fever, dry cough, digestive problem and pneumonia. He emphasized if anybody has any symptoms of the above immediately to approach the government hospital to prevent from corona.

In the afternoon awareness about Covid-19 was given to 150 of our hostel students by our Rotaract students with experiment of ,’How to wash hands ‘.

On the same day afternoon the awareness was given to all our drivers, household, workers and to all our non-teaching faculties.

On 12/03/2020 we have conducted awareness programme and the hand washing demo about Corona Virus to the public people of pudupalayam village.

About

During this programme, we have instructed all of them saying:

  • Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with soap and water.
  • Washing your hands with soap and water kills viruses that may be on your hands.
  • Maintain atleast 1 metre (3 feets) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  • When someone coughs or sneezes they spay small liqiud droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe inside the droplets including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.
  • Avoid hand touch and shaking because the outer surfaces can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hand can transfer the virus to your eyes, nos or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.
  • Make sure you and the people around you follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with hand kerchief when you cough or sneeze.
  • Droplets spread virus.
  • By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from virus such as cold, flu and COVID-19.
  • If you have fever,cough and difficulty breathing,seek medical case early.

    DR.A.P.J ABDUL KALAM’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

    On october 15th our club has celebrated the 85th birthday of DR.A.P.J ABDUL KALAM. The rotaract club has organised an awareness programme entitled DENGUE AWARENESS through RALLY in pudupalayam village .

    Spoke about dengue and how to prevent and avoid dengue fever.

    About

    Dengue fever also known as break bone fever. It is a mosquito-borne infection that can
    lead to severe full-like illness.It is caused by fourdifferent viruses and spread by ADES mosquitoes.
    Then he instructed our students like, protectyourself against mosquito bites.
    Prevent mosquito breeding inside and outside your home.
    Avoid visiting areas prone to mosquitoes
    Wear long sleeves and long pants to cover your arm and legs.
    Using mosquito nets while sleeping.

    From our college the organizer of Rotract club and all the 212 club members along with our college 3 staff together participated in this Rally.

    After this programme students went to meet all patients who are admitted at pudupalayam government hospital and explained them about how to avoid dengue, and what are the remedy for erradicate dengue fever. They all have participated very enthusiastically and energetically During the Rally students proclaimed the following words about awareness.Flex cards were in the hands of our students while giving awareness.

    At last we have distributed to all the village people the nilavembu kasayam to all staff and students.The programme came to end at 11.30 am.

    On 23rdMay 2020 ourclub has conducted the quiz programme about Rotaract and covid-19 through online. Though this programme we have distributed the e-certificate for those who participated. Totally 29 members participated in this programme.

    “VOTING RIGHTS PROVIDESA SENSE OF FREEDOM TO EXPRESS OPINION IN MAJOR DECISION MAKING THE BENEFIT OF THE COUNTRY IN A DEMOCRATIC NATION”

    On 30thJANUARY2021 at 10 am National Voters Day awareness Rally was conducted by our staff and students.The Rally started fromUnnamalaipalyam to our college campus.

    Our Rotaract students participated and motivated the voters of the Public to select good leaders for our nation.

    REV.DR.SARA JASMINE, PRINCIPAL OF OUR COLLEGE , REV.MOTHERALEX MARY,Idhaya social center, MR.SUNDARAPANDIYAN,chairman,pudupalayam.graced this occasion.

    Mr. Sundarapandiyan addressed the students about the impotance ofvoting and electing good and honest person to build strong nation. After his addresshe inaugurated the Rallyby shaking a green flag and declared the Rally to be open.

    The Rally ended into our campus and finally everyone took voters day oath.
