ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mathematics was started in the year 2007. The students of our department have been successfully placed in abroad, secured various Government jobs, attained high positions in financial Institutions, and are serving as managers, college lectures and professionals in reputed multinational companies.
The Department of Mathematics aims to provide quality education by building strong analytical and problem – solving skills in students. Our dedicated faculty members guide students in understanding core mathematical concepts and their applications in real – life situations.
The department regularly organizes Seminars, Workshops, and Association activities to enrich students' knowledge. We are committed to helping students excel academically, produce rank holders, and prepare them for higher studies and career opportunities.

Welcome to the Department of Mathematics at Idhaya College of Arts and Science for Women, Pudupalayam, Tiruvannamalai. The department of Mathematics was established in the year 2007. At present, this department offers B.Sc. (Mathematics) degree course under UG program affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University. Now the department has best teaching faculties. We are offering both Mathematics and Statistics as allied papers for all above disciplines.
I strongly believe that nobody becomes prominent Engineer/ Scientist without significant knowledge of Mathematics. The major strength of the department is a team of well qualified and dedicated faculties who are continuously supporting the students for their academic excellence.
The Department frequently conducts Quiz Competitions, Seminars and Math Expo. Also we encourage our students to participate seminars from various colleges.
Mathematics is a very interesting subject because you can apply it in daily life. When you go to buy anything, there is Mathematics present. We can actually prove anything using Mathematics. There is a demand of Mathematics students in fields such as Statistics, Engineering, Insurance, Banking and Accountancy and Physical Science. There is also a wide scope of Mathematics in teaching and Research fields.
After the completion of the Mathematics Programme, Our students will be able to…
- Understand and be able to use the language, symbols and notations of Mathematics.
- Develop problem solving skills and logical thinking.
- Apply the skills and knowledge gained, to real life situations and face competitive examinations with confidence.
